"Arrival" - trebuie sa intervina ... extraterestrii pentru ca tarile sa discute intre ele si pentru ca oamenii precum Louise sa-si poata face o proiectie a viitorului pentru a lua o decizie cu privire la propria viata. Cu alte cuvinte - in mod ironic - suntem cam alienati si de unii singuri.
Dicolo de asta, cea mai interesanta fraza din film e ultima:
Louise: If you could see your whole life from start to finish, would you change things?
Ian: Maybe I'd say what I feel more often. I... I don't know. You know, I've had my head tilted up to the stars for as long as i can remember. You know what surprised me the most? It wasn't meeting them. It was meeting you.

Nu spatiul si imensitatea lui e surpriza. Prin natura noastra suntem doar niste mici graunte pierdute in acest spatiu. Supriza este cand gasim alta graunta din spatiu careia sa-i pese de noi si noua de ea.
